Our Donor Promise | Depaulcharity

Depaul helps people who are homeless, vulnerable and disadvantaged.

Our Donor Promise

Depaul began 28 years ago with the care and support of a number of special donors. Many have stayed with us, and our supporters have grown in numbers because of your passion to help young people who are facing a chaotic time in their lives and are hopeful of a positive future.

We cannot continue our work with these young people without your support. We just could not run our services. We recognise and appreciate that we must be transparent in how we work with you, open in our communications and ensure that we build a trusting relationship that can change young people’s lives for the better.

We adhere to the Fundraising Regulator’s requirements and the Code of Fundraising Practice and are a member of the Institute of Fundraising.

We promise you that when you support us to help young people you are supporting an organisation you can trust.

We are honest and transparent

We show this by:

  • Doing what we say we are going to do
  • Following our complaints procedure
  • Responding to complaints quickly and effectively and
  • If you need to speak to us about any issue, you can contact our supporter care team on 020 7939 1220. A member of that team will deal with your query or pass it to the appropriate person to resolve.

We are Clear

We show this by:

  • Being clear about who we are, what we do and how your gift is used and
  • Giving a clear explanation of how you can make a gift and amend a regular commitment.

We Are Respectful

We show this by:

  • Respecting the rights, dignities and privacy of our supporters and beneficiaries
  • Not sharing your details with other charities or organisations
  • Not putting undue pressure on you to make a gift
  • Respecting your decision if you do not want to give or wish to cease giving
  • Respecting your wish not to receive any future communications from us and making it clear how you can remove your name and contact details from our mailing, phone and email lists
  • Thanking our donors for their generous contributions to supporting young people.

We are Fair and Reasonable

We show this by:

  • Use true stories of young people we have worked with as case studies
  • Taking care not to use any images or words that may cause unjustifiable distress or offence
