About the Project

Maritime Court, young person’s scheme provides supported housing to single young people, at risk aged 16-25. Housing and support is delivered in partnership with Karbon Homes (Landlord) and Depaul (Support Providers).

The project consists of 9 self contained flats and has on-site office which is staffed 24 hours. The fully furnished 1 bedroom flats consist of a living room, kitchen and bathroom (all white goods are supplied). The services can be accessed for up to one year.

The aim of the Project is to offer low to medium housing related support to enable service users to maintain a tenancy in the community, maximize their independence and help them to take as much responsibility for their own life as possible.

Staff will provide support, advice and guidance in all areas of life with particular focus upon maximizing benefits, accessing the education/training and developing to a persons full potential.

The ideal candidate will;

  • Follow Safeguarding and emergency alert procedures to ensure client safety/wellbeing

  • Take responsibility for key clients so that the support from the whole team collectively meets their needs

  • Ensure the high quality of risk/needs assessment support plans

  • Deliver one-to one and group support opportunities aimed at increasing the resilience of our clients

  • Lead on partnerships with local agencies including statutory teams, to support the wellbeing of Depaul clients in accordance with data protection and information sharing protocols

  • Be flexible, reflective and creative in your engagement with clients when providing personal support

  • Involve clients in the decisions made about them and encourage participation in Depaul's wider community programme of activities

  • Supporting clients as they participate in Education,Training, Employment and Volunteering opportunities as appropriate to the development of their skills, assets and aspirations, through facilitating the work of Depaul's Community Programmes Team

  • Participate in a rota which may include unsocial hours and weekend working

  • Be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of the environment for clients, staff, visitors and volunteers through regular risk assessment, health and safety checks and reporting in accordance with the Health and Safety Policy

  • Supervise the wok of the volunteers who add value to the work that we do

  • Fully understand the requirements of the contract, any relevant grants and the housing management obligations that apply to your service
