The Berenberg Gary Player Invitational

Depaul is honoured to have been the chosen charity for The Berenberg Gary Player Invitational at Wentworth in 2014 and 2015.

The event is the biggest charity golf tournament in Europe, and celebrities and golfers who have taken to the course for the celebration of golf and giving include; Ronan Keating, DJ Spoony, Brian McFadden, Ian Poulter, Tom Watson, Rod Laver, Fred Couples, and of course the legend himself Gary Player.

The event has so far raised a staggering £97,500 for Depaul.

In May 2015, Depaul was delighted to welcome the legendary Gary Player to our Willesden hostel in London to celebrate his contribution to Depaul. During his visit Mr Player met with young residents, shared some golfing tips, and gave an inspirational speech, which he ended with the advice: “You don’t have to be world champion as long as you are champion of yourself.”

Gerrell, a young resident of Depaul said that meeting Mr Player was “like I won the Premier League!”.
