We require a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual to join our team to provide seamless and cohesive support to some of the highest need young people in the Oldham area. You will predominantly be responsible for supporting the service to meet contractual obligations with regards to void management and acquiring of rental income. You will have the capacity to communicate effectively with people at all levels. This will include the young people we accommodate, DWP staff, colleagues within Depaul, contractors, landlords and so on.
The young people we work with require support to overcome multiple barriers to secure stable accommodation and meaningful employment, training and education. You will ensure the accommodation is properly maintained and assist the young people in sustaining their tenancy. You will also support with daily house keeping duties across the pathway. The role of the Housing Worker is pivotal to the successful delivery of this service as you liaise closely with the young people, in conjunction with the team, about their tenancy rights and responsibilities.
The role will involve carrying out Depaul’s commitment to successfully deliver the contracted outcomes. The scope of the role will involve the following responsibilities:

About the Project: We are commissioned by Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council to provide accommodation and housing related support for young people aged 16-25 in various types of accommodation, from a 24-hour staffed project; dispersed properties, to supported lodgings with a host family. We work closely with voluntary and statutory agencies in Oldham to meet the needs of the young people in the most effective and appropriate way.
To succeed in this role you will have experience of:
An understanding of the needs of people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, substance use or care leavers.
Intensive housing management to include void minimisation and maximising rental income.
A knowledge and understanding of welfare benefits
Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
Ability to use logical processes for solving problems and making decisions, with particular focus on Risk Assessment.
A thorough knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety
