Depaul House was formerly known as the Compass Project and is an established supported housing project based in Whitley Bay. Following a substantial refurbishment it was reopened in May 2015 by Trevor Sinclair, former England footballer, and Suzanne McCarthy, Chair of Depaul.

Depaul House is a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) accommodating 14 young people in safe and welcoming housing. The support can be up to 12 months if needed. The House is safe and secure with staff on site 24 hours a day seven days per week. Every room is fully furnished and has it's own bathroom and fridge while young people share the communal arears with the other residents in the house.

Every young person will be allocated a Key Worker when they enter the house. They will arrange key work sessions which will cover employment, training, volunteering, and education opportunities to help every resident grow in their confidence and ambition. Key Workers also support young people with any issues they might be experiencing and make referrals to other services that might help. Staff support residents to make relevant benefit claims and appeals if needed. Depaul House encourages and supports the young people to develop their independent living skills with day to day tasks such as cooking and cleaning.

The majority of the young people entering the house come from chaotic backgrounds. Depaul House offers stability and support with the aim of moving the young people onto independent living when the time is right for them. Depaul House is part of the North Tyneside Pathway which offers move on options and further support from the Outreach team to live independently in the community.
