Could you help end homelessness?

A recent report and our experiences show that:

  • Many people who become homeless do not show up in official figures.
  • 62% of single homeless people are considered hidden.*
  • Most of them are under 25.

Depaul UK is determined to change that. We believe everyone should have somewhere safe to sleep and a place to call home. Until that happens, our teams will be working to protect and support some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people facing homelessness in the UK today. Join our team and help us meet this challenge, because every night matters when you have nowhere left to go.

Since we started in 1989, we’ve made a difference to over 80,000 young people. Depaul UK offers support across the UK, providing counselling services, family mediation, dedicated project workers and vital access to safe homes around the country.

With one of the largest networks of emergency accommodation for young people in the UK, we are making a difference to the lives of thousands of young people each year. We are unique, innovative and passionate about what we do, working in the very heart of our local communities.

You will play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission of offering homeless and disadvantaged people the opportunity to fulfill their potential and move towards an independent and positive future. Because every person matters.

As our Community Fundraiser you will support, develop and inspire churches and community supporters across Yorkshire and the Humber, ensuring that local fundraising is as effective and engaging as possible. Projects will include supporting and delivering local and national campaigns, such as a Lent fundraising campaign and our flagship event, Dusk Walk, through building relationships and trust with local churches and community groups in your area.

You’ll come to us enthusiastic about building networks and strengthening community audiences. You will do this using a range of relationship building skills, including communicating powerfully about our work, engaging with a range of audiences through face to face and written channels. Your time-keeping and attention to detail will be meticulous as you have the opportunity to lead on fundraising initiatives and enjoy a varied and exciting workload. You may have worked in the charity sector, event marketing or PR, with at least one year’s experience in fundraising or fundraising activities. But more important is your ability to engage church and community audiences to ensure that we can continue to support those we work with.

Please note interested candidates should be willing to travel.

In return, we will commit to developing you in this entry-level exciting role, with access to fundraising training, mentoring and support from a wider fundraising team. You will have the chance to work closely with our services, learning and understanding how our work changes the lives of young people around the country.

If you’re looking for a new challenge and a great team, then we’d love to meet you!

We offer a range of employee benefits including; competitive salary, 5 weeks annual holiday plus bank holidays (rising to 6 weeks plus bank holidays), contributory pension scheme, life assurance and childcare voucher scheme.
